After persons unknown chopped down the beautiful variegated holly opposite the church (and, cheekily left behind the dead matter), it seems the holly has decided to fight back. The tree has sprouted new growth from the base.
Can parishioners please remember that Oxton is a conservation village and as such ANY sort of tree work should be discussed with the appropriate department at Newark & Sherwood District Council BEFORE taking up an axe!
The loss of this tree has been reported to N&SDC.
