Thanks to you all, the latest film night in Oxton was even bigger and better than ever! Nearly 120 people came to enjoy the two films screened by The Projection House – the all family film Tintin and the scorchingly funny romcom Bridesmaids. The numbers attending the film nights has increased each night, which is absolutely brilliant. We even had people coming from other film clubs in the county to see how it is done.
Those attending enjoyed the combination of great films, in a relaxed atmosphere. For Bridesmaids, patrons were able to indulge in strawberries and sparkling wines, along with specially created biscuits, all adding up to a great evening’s entertainment.
As ever enormous thanks go to all the hard working volunteers in the village who put on the evenings, and thanks also to you, the film goers, for continuing to support, in increasing numbers, the film club.
Following the showing of The King’s Speech on 4th June as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, The Projection House will be having a break over the summer, but as a result of the success so far there are plans in place for a programme of film nights leading up to the end of the year.
The dates and provisional themes for the film nights are listed below so please put these into your diaries now. Further details will be released nearer the dates.
With the exception of the New Year event we anticipate showing a family friendly film at the matinee and then a more adult film later in the evening.
