Good Craic

Building on the two previous successful events in November and February, the film night on 16th March from Oxton’s film group, The Projection House, was declared a resounding sell out!

Over eighty people were in attendance at Oxton Village Hall on Friday to enjoy the featured film, THE GUARD, a dark comedy set in Ireland, featuring a magnificent performance from Brendan Gleeson.

And after a meal of home-made Irish Stew with soda bread, the night was danced away with the irresistible backing of local Celtic-folk troubadours WHOLESOME FISH.

Befitting the Irish Night theme, the Hall was resplendently decked out with balloons, shamrocks and bunting, whilst the fare on offer from the well stocked bar included Guinness, Jameson’s, popcorn and a wide range of other drinks and snacks.

The feedback from the audience to the whole evening was incredibly supportive, with everyone we spoke to saying that they had enjoyed it immensely and were looking forward to the next event on Saturday 5th May.

Details of that next film night will be available here soon, but for now put a date in your diaries and be sure to thank those volunteers involved for putting on another great night in the village.
