NGS Open Garden for charity (hopefully with ducklings)

Joan Arnold and Tom Heinersdorff will be opening their garden

AT: Crows Nest Cottage, Forest Road, Oxton,
ON: Sunday April 15th
FROM: 12 noon UNTIL 5 p.m.

Entrance £3 per person, children free

Refreshments will be served (soup and a roll and/or tea, coffee and cakes) and there will be plants on sale as well.

UPDATE FRIDAY: WITH LUCK THE 3 JUST-HATCHED DUCKLINGS AND THE VISITING PEACOCK WILL STILL BE WITH US ON SUNDAY

Proceeds will go towards the Oxton Village Projects and the NGS nominated cancer charities so please come and support us.

Like everywhere else this year, the garden has been hit by the snow, the hard frosts and lengthy cold spells so there have been some fatalities and some injured plants that are taking a while to recuperate. There will be gaps, however, some of the old favourites are beginning to make an appearance; the clematis are sprouting vigorously, the tulips promise well and even some late summer herbaceous plants are optimistically showing their first shoots. Maybe the bluebells will be showing and the ponds and streams should be full of life – we already have some frog spawn – and there will be some new and unusual planting for you to come and see.
